Ukraine’s National Security Secretary Umerov meets Sweden’s Defence Minister Jonson
Stockholm, December 17 (Hibya) – Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council Rustem Umerov discussed steps to strengthen Ukraine’s defence capabilities with Sweden’s Defence Minister Pål Jonson.
Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council Secretary Umerov began his visit to Sweden with a meeting with Defence Minister Jonson.
The meeting focused on strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities, advancing defence cooperation, and addressing modern security challenges, including Russia’s hybrid threats.
Umerov thanked Sweden and Pål Jonson for their continued financial and security support to Ukraine, stressing that this assistance is of strategic importance for Ukraine’s resilience and the security of the European continent.
It was also announced that Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson will host Umerov at a working lunch.
Kristersson stated that efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace will be discussed, saying, “Ukraine’s security is also Sweden’s security, and we will continue to support Ukraine every step of the way.”
