Tykhyi draws attention to Russia’s youth recruitment programs in Africa
Kyiv, December 17 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said that Russia’s scholarship and youth programs in Africa serve illegal war efforts and called for continent-wide action.
Tykhyi stated: “What we are seeing so far is likely only the tip of the iceberg. We call on all African media and governments to take bold steps to stop Russian programs that recruit young people across the continent into the illegal war against Ukraine.”
He noted that Russia will dramatically increase scholarships for African students in the next academic year, stressing that these initiatives are not educational in nature and calling for official warnings and legal action against illegal recruitment.
