Tajani thanks teams responding to Vesuvio fires
Rome, August 9 (Hibya) – Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani thanked all institutions and volunteers who have worked selflessly in recent days to address the serious environmental crisis in the Vesuvio area.
In his statement, Tajani said: “I owe thanks to the volunteers, the Civil Protection teams, the Fire Brigade, the mayors, and the Prefect of Naples who have made great efforts in these difficult days. They all showed extraordinary commitment in the face of the environmental disaster.”
Tajani noted that the government is closely monitoring the process of combating the Vesuvio fires, drawing attention to the declaration of a national state of emergency following the environmental crisis, and added that Environment Minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin is closely following the situation.
