Kyiv, October 29 (Hibya) – Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha announced that Ukraine voted today against the UN General Assembly resolution on "the necessity of ending the U.S. embargo on Cuba."
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Ukraine voted today against the UN General Assembly resolution on "the necessity of ending the U.S. embargo on Cuba," noting that this move was not sudden and had serious reasons. He said:
"We remember how the President of Cuba wished Putin 'success' in his aggressive war against Ukraine. We heard that clearly. This year, we decided to close our embassy in Havana and downgrade our diplomatic relations. Our vote is not against the Cuban people; we respect their right to live in prosperity."
