UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that the horrifying images of starving children in Gaza demand urgent action.

Russell said that UNICEF is delivering three truckloads of baby formula to Gaza, but added: "However, this is vastly insufficient for the thousands of children facing the risk of death from hunger. Every minute counts to prevent lifelong cognitive and physical damage caused by malnutrition and to save lives. We continue to call for immediate and unhindered humanitarian access, the protection of children, the release of all hostages, and a ceasefire."
