President Erdoğan spoke with Palestinian President Abbas
President of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas.
During the call, Israel’s attacks on Gaza and the current situation were discussed. President Erdoğan stated that Israel’s decision to place the whole of Gaza under full military control is completely unacceptable, noting that Türkiye continues its diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the region.
Erdoğan emphasized that the statements by France, the United Kingdom, and Canada regarding the possible recognition of the State of Palestine are valuable, that criticism of Israel in the West is increasing, and that Türkiye, by standing with Palestine, will continue working to establish lasting peace and stability in the region.
