Meloni expresses condolences for volunteers killed in accident
Rome, August 9 (Hibya) - Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni reiterated the government's condolences over the deaths of two Misericordie volunteers, Gianni Trappolini and Giulia Santoni, in a tragic accident that occurred last Monday on the Autostrada del Sole.
Meloni stated that the accident happened when an ambulance transporting Franco Lovari to the hospital for a check-up collided with a truck, and that the outcome was very sad.
On the day of the accident, Meloni offered condolences to the families of the three people who lost their lives and, on behalf of the government, thanked all the volunteers who work selflessly every day for the community.
Meloni said: "Volunteering is the best face of Italy. This extraordinary network of solidarity makes an important daily contribution to making our country a fairer place."
