Macron: Integration of the SDF is essential for Syria’s unity
Paris, January 18 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron stressed during his meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Chara that an agreement must be reached on integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) into the state structure to ensure Syria’s stability.
French President Emmanuel Macron held talks with Syrian President Ahmed al-Chara to discuss recent developments in Syria and diplomatic solutions.
Speaking about the military activities carried out by Syrian authorities, Macron said: “This morning I spoke with Syrian President Ahmed al-Chara and conveyed our concerns about the escalation of tensions in Syria and the continuation of attacks by Syrian authorities.”
Referring to the roadmap needed for Syria’s territorial integrity and political stability, Macron added: “A lasting ceasefire is essential, and based on the talks held last March, an agreement should be reached on integrating the Syrian Democratic Forces into the Syrian state. Syria’s unity and stability depend on this.”
