Macron and Merz Begin Preparations for France-Germany Summit in Berlin
Berlin, July 23 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron announced that he met with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in Berlin to discuss preparations for the joint cabinet and defense-security council meetings between the two countries.
In a social media post, Macron said, “We are together in Berlin; the Franco-German reflex is working. Preparations for the Cabinet and the Defense and Security Council are ongoing.”
The two leaders are expected to meet again on August 29 in Toulon. The summit is expected to address bilateral relations, European defense, security, and strategic cooperation.
