Macron: Al-Zaidi's choice of France demonstrates our role in promoting stability
Paris, September 14 (Hibya) - French President Emmanuel Macron said he met with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi, who chose France as the first stop on his European tour, and discussed regional stability, energy security and defense cooperation.
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized that Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Faleh Al-Zaidi's choice of France was an important indication of France's capacity to play a stabilizing role.
Referring to the importance of regional stability, Macron said, "Working for stability in the region means defending the interests of the French people."
Explaining steps related to energy supplies and market balances, Macron said, "Securing our energy supply by working to reduce tensions and developing alternatives to the Strait of Hormuz helps ease pressure on prices at the pump."
Drawing attention to security cooperation, Macron emphasized, "Expanding our cooperation with our partners in defense and security means continuing our determined joint fight against terrorism."
Speaking about the objectives of diplomacy, Macron said, "That is also the purpose of our diplomacy: to concretely protect the purchasing power of the French people and ensure their security."
