Israel expands Northern Shield project to communities near Lebanon border
Jerusalem, September 6 (Hibya) – The Israeli government is launching an expanded Northern Shield project that will cover communities located up to 9 kilometers from the Lebanese border.
In a joint statement by the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Defense and the Home Front Command, it was announced that the expanded Northern Shield project would be implemented.
In line with the government decision, the project will be expanded to include communities located within 9 kilometers of the Lebanese border.
The statement noted that the system is expected to open for applications from residents of the area as of September 15, 2026.
