European Commission President Leyen noted that five years have passed since the fraudulent elections in Belarus and emphasized that they continue to support the people of Belarus.

She stressed that they will not stop until all over one thousand political prisoners are released, adding: "We continue to support civil society, independent media, human rights defenders, and the democratic forces of Belarus."

Leyen underlined that when the time for democratic transition comes, the European Union will be ready. "We stand by our pledge to mobilize a €3 billion support package for a democratic Belarus. Today, I extend my full support and solidarity to all Belarusians," she said.
