European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos announced that Norway will contribute 1 billion Norwegian kroner (approximately 90 million euros) to the Ukraine Facility.

Kos said the EU and Norway are working together for a stronger Europe. She stated that both sides share the same determination to defend common interests, values and security.

Kos said the contribution announced by Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide will be directed to the Ukraine Facility, one of the key instruments for supporting Ukraine, adding that the support will help Ukraine defend itself against Russia’s attacks.

Kos also said the contribution will help support reforms aimed at strengthening Ukraine and bringing the country closer to EU membership.
