Brussels, March 5 (Hibya) – European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas stated that Iran is trying to export the war to the region and announced that they will explore ways to support the production of drone interception systems to protect partners in the Middle East.
European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas made important statements before the meeting to be held with EU foreign ministers and representatives of Gulf countries. Kallas pointed to the similarities between the threats in Ukraine and the Middle East.
Regarding Iran’s activities in the region, Kallas said: “Tehran is now trying to export the war to as many countries as possible. Today, EU foreign ministers and our Gulf partners will discuss what we can do together to break the cycle of violence. The same drones attacking Kyiv are now attacking our partners in the Middle East.”
Emphasizing the global dimension of the threat, Kallas stated: “For this reason, we will explore how we can support the production of drone interception systems.”
