Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten announced the new legal regulation that will shorten the time needed to establish infrastructure connections and emphasized that tackling grid congestion is among the government’s key priorities.

Announcing that the law had entered into force, Jetten said: “In order to rapidly create more capacity, today we are putting into effect a crisis law aimed at relieving grid congestion and significantly shortening the time required to establish new connections.”

Referring to the facilitations introduced by the regulation, Jetten said: “This step will allow us to speed up permitting procedures and simplify the rules regarding the filing of objections.”

Drawing attention to the government’s determination in this area, Jetten said: “Solving the problem of grid congestion has been one of the most important priorities since this government took office, and in the coming period we aim to significantly accelerate our work on this issue.”
