Italian Prime Minister Meloni commemorates Enrico Mattei
Rome, October 27 (Hibya) – Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni issued a statement on the anniversary of the death of former Italian Chamber of Deputies member Enrico Mattei.
Meloni noted that 63 years have passed since the tragic death of Enrico Mattei, describing him as “a visionary, a leader, and a great Italian who brought prestige to the country and contributed to its economic and industrial growth. His foresight in energy policy and his cooperation with other nations remind us of our country's potential to build bridges and create prosperity for its people.”
She added that Mattei’s work continues to inspire her government’s actions today and is reflected in the “Mattei Plan,” an ambitious project aimed at building equal partnerships with other nations, starting from Africa. “This is an initiative we firmly support,” Meloni said, “because believing in our own abilities also creates great opportunities.”
