Herzog's message of support for the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace agreement
Jerusalem, August 9 (Hibya) – Israeli President Isaac Herzog issued a statement regarding the historic peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, signed in Washington, D.C., under the auspices of U.S. President Donald Trump.
Herzog expressed that he was deeply moved by the signing of the agreement, thanked President Trump for his leadership in this process, and praised his passionate commitment to peace.
"I congratulate President Trump on this great achievement. I hope that under his leadership, many more historic steps toward peace will be taken around the world. We especially hope that our captives, held in difficult conditions by the Palestinian Islamic Movement in Gaza, will regain their freedom as soon as possible," Herzog said.
He also congratulated Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan for their leadership and wished for both peoples to live in peace, security, and prosperity.
