Giant waves in Tenerife swallow three people
Stockholm, November 9 (Hibya) – At least three people have died in maritime accidents on Spain’s holiday island of Tenerife.
On Saturday, the sea surrounding the island was rough, and Tenerife’s coasts were shaken by high waves. The three deaths occurred in different locations after people fell into the water.
At one point, a wave hit a pier in the city of Puerto de la Cruz, sweeping ten people into the water. Nine were rescued, but a woman died in connection with the incident.
Earlier that same day, the bodies of two men were found on beaches in the north and south of the island.
According to local media, around 15 people are being treated in hospitals.
