Ghebreyesus: Outbreaks begin and end in communities
Geneva, November 8 (Hibya) – World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that outbreaks begin and end within communities, noting that this is particularly true for Ebola.
“Progress in vaccines and treatments has made it easier to control the disease, but the true force that stops it is the community itself,” Ghebreyesus said.
He added that the WHO continues to support government-led interventions and local health workers in ending the outbreak and assisting survivors in their recovery process.
