Ghebreyesus: Hundreds of thousands of people die from drowning every year
Geneva, July 25 (Hibya) - World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that thousands of people die every year from drowning.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus drew attention to the fact that thousands of people lose their lives every year due to drowning.
He emphasized that most drowning cases are preventable deaths among children and young people in low- and middle-income countries. "WHO supports countries, communities, and parents in taking low-cost, evidence-based measures to save lives and protect future generations," Ghebreyesus said.
