WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stated that in Sudan, alongside ongoing violence and the spread of cholera, dengue fever cases have also been reported.

He noted that the most affected states are Khartoum, El Gezira, and White Nile, reporting that more than 37,000 people have been infected so far and over 100 have died.

Ghebreyesus emphasized that WHO supports coordination in critical areas such as disease surveillance, case management, and community engagement. “In cooperation with the Ministry of Health in Khartoum, 7,800 volunteers have been deployed to reach approximately 936,000 households,” he said.
