General Fabien Mandon Appointed as France's Chief of Defense Staff
Paris, July 23 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron announced the appointment of General Fabien Mandon as the new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces.
President Macron stated that General Mandon officially assumed his post and has been tasked with leading the armed forces in response to major national security and defense challenges.
Macron also announced the appointment of General Vincent Giraud as the new head of the special defense staff, who will act as military advisor at the level of presidential chief of staff.
The president thanked outgoing Chief of Staff General Thierry Burkhard, saying: “He served France with honor, courage, and foresight. As a nation, we owe him respect and gratitude.”
