Fiala: Vienna Highway in Czechia to begin in 2026
Prague, July 14 (Hibya) – Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala announced that the construction of a highway extending to Vienna will begin in 2026, with the project expected to be completed by 2032.
Fiala also stated that the travel time to Berlin, the capital of Germany, will be significantly reduced thanks to the planned Krušné Hory (Krušnohorský) Tunnel. Once the tunnel is completed, the travel time from Prague to Berlin will decrease from four hours to two.
Prime Minister Fiala said that he and Transport Minister Martin Kupka informed the public about the projects and noted that the minister had done a “successful job” throughout the process.
