Metsola shared this message following her meeting with the Druze community’s spiritual leader, Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif.

She noted that direct information was received on the challenges facing the Druze community in Syria’s Suwayda region, and said the international community must do more to deliver urgent humanitarian aid, enable the return of displaced persons, and protect all Syrians regardless of ethnicity or belief.

Metsola added that the European Parliament will continue to give its full support to the Syrian people’s efforts to achieve a just, inclusive and secure future.
