Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans paid a visit to the Dutch Military Intelligence and Security Service (MIVD). During the visit, he received information about a covert operation aimed at detecting and preventing foreign intelligence activities.

After the visit, Minister Brekelmans highlighted the importance of the MIVD’s role, particularly in countering foreign espionage. Citing the disruption of activities of some Russian officers previously active in the Netherlands, he stressed that the MIVD has been effective in detecting and preventing such threats.

Minister Brekelmans emphasized that operations are conducted within a legal framework, under strict supervision and oversight, and expressed his deep admiration for the professionalism of MIVD personnel.
