Drone attack caused fires in three districts of Kazan
Moscow, December 21 (Hibya) - The Kazan city administration announced on its Telegram channel that Ukrainian drones attacked homes in three districts of Kazan on Saturday morning.
The statement read: "This morning in Kazan, as a result of a drone attack, fires broke out in homes in the Sovetsky, Kirovsky, and Privolzhsky districts."
Earlier, the municipality reported fires in two districts. No casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, the Russian aviation authority, Rosaviatsiya, announced the temporary closure of Kazan Airport to flights.
The Rosaviatsiya statement said: "To ensure the safety of civil flights, temporary restrictions have been imposed on the operation of Kazan Airport this morning, December 21."
The press service of the Tatarstan President announced that an alert was declared in Kazan due to the drone attack.
"In connection with the drone attack in the city, the Ministry of Emergency Situations issued a warning, asking residents to remain calm, dress, and go to the first floors or the basement when the alarm sounds," the statement read.
The press service also reported that an operational headquarters was organized, and the President of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, arrived at the scene and was briefed on the situation.
