Cassis meets with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hussein
New York, September 23 (Hibya) - Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis held a meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to discuss the situation in Iraq and the region.
Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis made assessments on the situation in Iraq and the region during his meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein.
Cassis said the meeting was productive, adding, “Switzerland supports a stable Iraq and efforts to de-escalate tensions in and around the Strait of Hormuz.”
Commenting on regional diplomacy, Cassis said, “We stand ready to continue our contributions to facilitating dialogue and advancing regional diplomacy.”
Cassis said the meeting also addressed Iraq's domestic priorities and upcoming security challenges.
