Canadian PM Carney met Indian PM Modi at the G20
Johannesburg, November 24 (Hibya) – Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the meeting, negotiations were launched for a trade agreement that could increase trade between the two countries to 70 billion dollars.
PM Carney said, “Today, Prime Minister Modi and I met on the sidelines of the G20 Summit and launched negotiations for a possible trade agreement between our countries.”
Carney noted that India, as the world’s fifth-largest economy, offers significant opportunities for Canadian workers and businesses. The agreement aims to raise bilateral trade to over 70 billion dollars.
