Canada Renews NATO Mission in Latvia
Ottawa, August 27 (Hibya) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that his country will maintain its military presence as part of the NATO mission in Latvia.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney stated that Canada will continue its participation in the NATO mission in Latvia. The mission, called "Operation REASSURANCE," includes a multinational brigade of 3,500 troops led by Canada.
Carney emphasized that, in response to the ongoing aggressive behavior of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Canada is renewing the mission. He added that Canadian troops will remain on the ground to deter Russia and strengthen NATO’s eastern flank.
