Zelensky: Umerov will head our delegation in Istanbul
Kyiv, June 1 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that he has clarified his country’s stance ahead of tomorrow’s meeting in Istanbul, stating that Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov will lead the delegation.
Zelensky said he had received reports from Defense Minister Umerov, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, the General Staff, intelligence units, and the Security Service of Ukraine.
He noted that they evaluated defense, active operations, and diplomacy, adding, “We are doing everything we can to protect our independence, our state, and our people. I have set near-term tasks and clarified our position ahead of Monday’s meeting in Istanbul.”
Zelensky emphasized that key issues can only be resolved by leaders, saying, “Rustem Umerov will head our delegation at Monday’s meeting.”
