Zelensky emphasized that the holding of the Peace Formula meeting in Malta on the 79th anniversary of the expulsion of Nazi invaders from Ukrainian territory is highly symbolic and stated the following:

"During World War II, the Ukrainian people fought alongside many other nations to defeat evil. This unity provided these nations with the necessary strength. Not just to defeat Nazism and hold the Nazis accountable for crimes like the Holocaust and the annihilation of nations. But also to build a peace and security architecture for preventing a new global war."

Zelensky stressed the importance of unity, saying, "The unity of all those contributing to defeating Russism in Ukraine. The unity of all working with us and all our partners worldwide to restore the power of international law and the true weight of the principles and norms of the United Nations."
