Budrys: Putin is trying to buy time to avoid a path to peace
Vilnius, May 11 (Hibya) – Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys commented on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s statements about peace.
Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys stated that Putin is trying to buy time to avoid entering a real path to peace.
“Talking about peace while Russian bombs continue to fall on Ukrainian civilians is pure nonsense,” said Budrys. “The fact that Putin held a press conference less than 24 hours after European leaders, supported by the US, called for an unconditional ceasefire says it all. We must now continue this process with determination. If Russian weapons are not silenced by Monday, a new sanctions package must be implemented without delay.”
