Zelenski: Agreements and documents worth 8.5 billion euros signed with Germany today
Kyiv, October 4 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski announced after his meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that a new comprehensive support package worth more than 1.3 billion euros had been prepared for Ukraine and that 15 agreements and documents with a total value exceeding 8.5 billion euros had been signed.
Ukrainian President Zelenski made a statement on his social media account following his meeting with German Chancellor Merz. Merz visited Ukraine on October 4 and reaffirmed his support for the country.
Zelenski said Germany had prepared a comprehensive support package worth more than 1.3 billion euros for Ukraine. He stated that the package includes weapons for short-term use as well as support for Ukraine’s energy sector ahead of winter.
Zelenski said the need for air defense was also discussed during the meeting, noting that air defense is critical in the current period.
Zelenski stated that as of today there are 15 agreements and documents between the two countries, most of which concern security cooperation, production, supply, Ukraine’s orders from the German defense industry and joint projects in Ukraine.
Zelenski said the total value of these agreements exceeds 8.5 billion euros and announced that a special agreement on joint efforts against unmanned aerial vehicles had also been signed.
Zelenski thanked Germany and Merz and also expressed gratitude to Europe for its support for Ukraine.
