Chinese President Xi Jinping said that BRICS countries are working together to address various challenges, from the global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic to climate change.

Xi said BRICS countries remain committed to safeguarding the common interests of the Global South and provide the world with stability and positive momentum.

Assessing the past 20 years of BRICS cooperation, Xi said the cooperation has produced fruitful results.

Noting that BRICS countries have undergone a historic expansion process, Xi said a comprehensive and multi-layered cooperation framework has been established.

Xi said BRICS cooperation has entered a stage of higher-quality development.
