In a statement, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said the declaration from the summit held in New Delhi on September 12–13, 2026 rejected attempts to forcibly displace the Palestinian people from their land, including Jerusalem, and emphasized ending the Israeli occupation and commitment to the principle of a two-state solution.

The statement also said the declaration included calls to support Palestine’s full membership in the United Nations, establish an independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state within the June 4, 1967 borders with Jerusalem as its capital, support UNRWA, protect holy sites in Jerusalem and guarantee access to them, and ensure the unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The ministry said these positions were consistent with international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, stressing that they should be “translated into practical and concrete steps.” The statement called on the international community to fulfill its legal and political responsibilities, end violations and crimes resulting from the Israeli occupation as well as practices of displacement, settlement and annexation, and ensure that the Palestinian people can exercise their legitimate national rights, foremost among them the right to self-determination.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said implementing the positions and emphasis contained in the BRICS declaration requires “ending the Israeli occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to attain their inalienable rights.”
