Wong: Australian Foreign Minister meets Tonga’s Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua
Canberra, 27 January (Hibya) – Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong discussed bilateral relations and regional vision with Tonga’s new Prime Minister Lord Fakafanua.
Australian Foreign Minister Senator Penny Wong met with the new Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga, Lord Fakafanua. During the meeting, the parties discussed shared goals related to the “Blue Pacific” vision.
Commenting on the meeting, Wong said: “Today I met with the new Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga, Lord Fakafanua, to discuss our shared vision for the Blue Pacific.”
Highlighting the close ties between Australia and Tonga, Wong added: “Australia and Tonga are close friends. I look forward to continuing to advance our Kaume’a Ofi partnership.”
