Israeli Foreign Minister Saar meets Kazakhstan President Tokayev
Astana, January 27 (Hibya) – Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar met with Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana to discuss economic and regional cooperation.
Israeli Foreign Minister Saar met with Kazakhstan President Tokayev in Astana. During the meeting, ways to realize the potential of bilateral relations and regional issues were discussed.
Saar described Tokayev’s decision to join the Abraham Accords as a historic step. Noting that economic ties will be strengthened alongside a high-level business and economic delegation from Israel, Saar said, “We will further strengthen our relations.”
Saar also met in Astana with Kazakhstan Senate Chairman Maulen Ashimbayev, Friendship Group Chairman Nurtore Zhussip, and Chairman of the Committee on International Relations, Defense and Security Andrei Lukin.
During the meeting, on the occasion of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Kazakhstan was commended for having provided a safe haven for Jews during the Holocaust and for the importance it places on the welfare and security of the Jewish community. The country’s tradition of tolerance and its contribution to social peace were also emphasized.
