Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

European Commission President von der Leyen made a statement on efforts to tackle high energy costs.

Von der Leyen said lowering energy costs is a priority, adding, "We are working to protect those who need it most and to address structural problems."

Von der Leyen said they are working on short-term measures and that these measures will be tailored to the specific circumstances of each country. She added that work is also underway to ensure security of supply and lower prices.

Von der Leyen said G7 members agreed last week to release 100 million barrels of diesel and crude oil onto the market. She also announced that they would launch a strategic dialogue on European refineries and establish a new task force to aggregate energy demand.

Von der Leyen also said the Iran-backed Houthis had targeted infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, including a refinery and airports.

Stating that these attacks increase instability in the region, trigger new acts of violence and weaken global energy security, von der Leyen said, "We stand in solidarity with Saudi Arabia and our Gulf partners."

Von der Leyen said regional security would be at the center of talks with the Gulf Cooperation Council at the end of the month.
