Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

French President Macron announced that the first launch of the new M51.3 ballistic missile had been carried out.

In a post on his social media account, Macron said that while aboard the multi-mission frigate Auvergne, he witnessed the first launch of the M51.3 ballistic missile from the Le Vigilant nuclear-powered ballistic missile submarine.

Macron said only a small number of countries possess this level of expertise and congratulated personnel from France's Directorate General of Armaments (DGA), the Atomic Energy Commission (CEA), Ariane Group, Naval Group and the French Navy who contributed to the achievement.

Macron said the technical achievement demonstrated the credibility of France's nuclear deterrent, adding, "To be free, one must be feared. To be feared, one must be strong."

Macron said that since 2017 France had begun renewing its defense capabilities for the decades ahead and that the armed forces' budget would double over 10 years.

Macron added that the strategic submarines of the future are under construction and that the program for a strategic, hypersonic and maneuverable missile that will equip the airborne deterrent component was also launched this year.

Macron said France's nuclear deterrent protects the country and will continue to do so.
