European Union (EU) Commission President Ursula von der Leyen spoke about the decisions taken regarding Iran at the EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting.

Expressing her support for the sanctions decisions, von der Leyen said: “I welcome the political agreement reached on new sanctions against the murderous Iranian regime. And on the designation of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization. This was long overdue.”

Speaking about the regime’s crackdown on protests, von der Leyen stated: “Calling a regime that suppresses its own people’s protests with blood ‘terrorist’ is indeed appropriate. Europe stands with the Iranian people in their courageous struggle for freedom.”
