Finnish Foreign Minister Valtonen stated that at a time when the leaders of Ukraine and the United States are preparing to meet to advance peace, Russia carried out large-scale attacks targeting residential areas of Kyiv and critical infrastructure.

Pointing to dozens of casualties, widespread power outages, and the fact that a large part of the capital was left without heating in the middle of winter, Valtonen said: “Russia’s response to diplomatic efforts has remained the same, with relentless drone and missile attacks targeting Ukrainian cities.”

Valtonen emphasized that these atrocities must be condemned and that the international community must not remain indifferent.
