Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof said that he held talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and European leaders ahead of Zelensky’s meeting with US President Donald Trump.

Emphasizing the importance of continued cooperation between the United States, Ukraine and Europe, Schoof said: “We reaffirmed our unconditional support for Ukraine and for the principles formulated in the Berlin Declaration of December 15.”

Schoof stressed that they will continue to stand firmly behind Ukraine, adding: “This has become even more necessary at a time when attacks against Ukraine have continued throughout the Christmas holidays, including the heavy attack on Kyiv last night.”

Underlining that efforts must continue, Schoof said these include providing military support such as air defense and implementing another package of EU sanctions against Russia.
