Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 52 points, or 0.1%. S&P futures climbed about 0.1%, while Nasdaq 100 futures increased roughly 0.2%.

The three major U.S. indexes fell in the previous session. The 30-stock Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped more than 550 points, or 1.2%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite declined about 0.9%.

Nvidia shares fell around 2% ahead of the chipmaker’s third-quarter results, set to be released after Wednesday’s market close. Reporting near the end of a strong earnings season, the company has been at the center of debate surrounding this year’s AI-powered market rally.

A surge in debt issuance by major tech companies and the rapid depreciation of AI chips have fueled concerns about weak market breadth, expensive tech valuations, and the strength of AI fundamentals.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq is on track to end its seven-month winning streak, while the S&P 500 has dropped 2.5% in November after six consecutive months of gains.

According to analysts, market sentiment toward AI has undergone a dramatic shift in recent weeks — from rewarding rising capital expenditures to growing skepticism around further investment and future returns.

Alongside Nvidia’s earnings, investors this week will be watching data that may influence the trajectory of interest-rate decisions, which have retreated in recent weeks. Surveys show that Fed-funds futures traders are pricing in about a 40% chance of a rate cut — far below the more than 90% probability seen a month ago.

The Federal Reserve’s October meeting minutes and September non-farm payrolls — the first major economic releases since the U.S. government reopened — will be published on Wednesday and Thursday.

U.S. markets will also focus this week on earnings from major consumer brands such as Walmart, Home Depot and Target. With the holiday shopping season approaching, the market is looking for signals on consumer spending.
