U.S. Justice Department to investigate Epstein’s ties to Clinton and banks
Washington, Nov 15 (Hibya) – The United States Department of Justice is investigating, at Trump’s request, Epstein’s alleged connections to Clinton and several major banks.
The U.S. Justice Department has confirmed that it will investigate the alleged ties between convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein and major banks, as well as several prominent Democrats, including former President Bill Clinton.
U.S. President Donald Trump said he would ask Attorney General Pam Bondi and the FBI to investigate Epstein’s “relationship and connections” with Clinton and others.
Bondi said the department “will pursue this matter urgently and with integrity.”
Trump’s request came just days after the U.S. Congress released thousands of Epstein’s emails, which also mention the U.S. president. Democrats accused Trump of trying to evade questions about his own relationship with Epstein.
The emails released by the House Oversight Committee include many high-profile names. A Wall Street Journal analysis found that Trump’s name appeared in more than 1,600 of the 2,324 email threads.
Trump said that in addition to Clinton, he asked the Justice Department (DoJ) to investigate JP Morgan and Chase banks, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, and LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman, who is also a major Democratic donor.
On social media, Trump wrote: “Epstein was a Democrat, and this is the Democrats’ problem, not the Republicans’! They all know him, don’t waste time on Trump. I have a country to run!”
Clinton firmly denied having any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes.
