Ukraine: 336 people killed since the beginning of Russia’s invasion
Kyiv, April 4 (Hibya) – The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that 336 people, including 18 children, have been killed since Russia launched its full-scale assault in February 2022.
In a statement, the ministry said that Ukraine is one of the countries most contaminated by landmines in the world.
Approximately 139,000 square kilometers are considered potentially dangerous and need to be cleared by demining teams. The statement read:
“Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022, 336 people, including 18 children, have died. 825 people, including 92 children, have been injured. Those most at risk of injury from explosive remnants are people living near front-line areas and in regions where combat operations previously took place. Currently, the most ammunition-contaminated regions are Kharkiv, Kherson, and Donetsk.”
