Third round of US-Iran talks begins in Oman
Stockholm, April 26 (Hibya) - Delegations from Iran and the United States are meeting today in Muscat, the capital of Oman, for the third round of talks.
Today's talks follow two previous rounds held on April 12 and 19 in Muscat and Rome respectively.
The meetings, hosted under the auspices of Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, will start at the expert level before moving to higher-level discussions. Iranian Deputy Foreign Ministers Majid Takht-Ravanchi and Kazem Gharibabadi will represent Iran at the technical session initially scheduled for April 23 but later postponed to April 26.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said on Friday that both sides agreed to hold discussions simultaneously at multiple levels. "Based on the arrangements made by the Omani host, technical meetings and indirect negotiations between the Iranian foreign minister and the US special envoy will take place on Saturday," he added.
