The Netherlands extends support to Jamaica
Amsterdam, October 31 (Hibya) – Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans stated that Jamaica was severely affected by Hurricane Melissa and that the Netherlands will provide humanitarian assistance.
Defense Minister Brekelmans said that Jamaica was seriously impacted by the devastating Hurricane Melissa and announced that humanitarian operations had been launched.
He noted that the Dutch Navy ship Zr. Ms. Pelikaan had departed from Curaçao en route to Jamaica, carrying food, medical supplies, and shelter equipment. Brekelmans said, “Our soldiers are ready to assist at the moment of greatest need.”
