Sybiha’s message on the 40th anniversary of Chernobyl
Kyiv, April 26 (Hibya) - Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made a statement on the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster. In his statement, Sybiha said the event was “a devastating result of the lies, negligence and disregard for human life by Soviet authorities.”
Sybiha stated that the disaster fundamentally changed nuclear safety policies, saying: “The lessons of Chernobyl continue to serve as a powerful reminder of the responsibility carried by nuclear energy.”
Emphasizing that for Ukraine, Chernobyl is not only history but also a symbol of “sacrifice and resilience,” Sybiha said that the international community must take a firm stance against nuclear threats.
