Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said at least 5 people were killed and 67 wounded in a Russian attack targeting civilians in Pavlohrad, adding that Ukraine needs additional air defense systems and electronic warfare equipment.

Sybiha said Russia targeted civilians near shopping centers in the city of Pavlohrad.

Sybiha said the attack was carried out with drones in the middle of the day, killing at least 5 people and wounding 67.

Describing the attack as “a deliberate act of terror against civilians,” Sybiha argued that Russia systematically targets places across Ukraine where people are going about their daily lives.

Sybiha said air raid alerts continue across Ukraine and Russia is launching an increasing number of drones. He claimed that Moscow has missiles, drones, components and financial resources, as well as a “sense of impunity”.

Sybiha argued that Russia is using the attacks as a tool of pressure to wear down Ukrainian society and force the country into concessions, saying: “Ukraine now needs additional air defense systems and interceptors”.

Sybiha said sanctions against Russia’s weapons production and supply chains should be increased and called for cutting off Russia’s revenues that finance terror.

Sybiha called on the international community to increase its support for Ukraine and said Russia’s attacks on civilians should not go unanswered, adding: “Russia must not be rewarded for trying to coerce Ukraine by killing civilians. It must lose the means to keep doing this.”
