The IDF announced that it had completed the destruction of underground infrastructure in the Ali Taha Ridge area as part of operations carried out in the security zone in southern Lebanon.

According to an IDF statement, after forces established operational control of the area both above and below ground, units of the 36th Division destroyed the underground tunnels following a prolonged period of preparation.

The statement said the operation was aimed at preventing Hezbollah from using the infrastructure to plan and carry out attacks against Israeli citizens and IDF forces.

The IDF said the destroyed terrorist infrastructure extended for more than 2 kilometers. It said dozens of rockets, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles described as Iranian-made were found in the underground structures, along with machine guns, dozens of anti-tank missiles, hundreds of mines and explosive-laden devices.

The statement also said that, as previously announced, a central command complex belonging to Hezbollah's "Badr" unit had been discovered within the underground infrastructure. The complex was said to contain war rooms, ammunition depots, and rooms and areas allowing for extended stays.

The IDF claimed that the infrastructure had been built, financed and planned over a period of approximately 20 years.

The Israel Defense Forces said they would continue operating in the security zone in southern Lebanon to eliminate threats and destroy terrorist infrastructure, adding that they would not allow Hezbollah to carry out attacks against Israeli citizens.

The statement also noted that the IDF remains committed to the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon.
